General Assembly: Eleventh Emergency Special Session (resumed) - 24th Plenary meeting.


Following the letter, dated 18 February 2026, from H.E. Mr. Andrii Melnyk, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, and H.E. Ms. Sanita Pavļuta-Deslandes, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Latvia to the United Nations, requesting the resumption of the eleventh emergency special session of the General Assembly in accordance with resolution ES-11/9 of 3 December 2025.

Debate on the item and action on the draft resolution
[A letter from the President of the General Assembly, dated 18 February 2026, was sent to all permanent representatives and permanent observers.]
The General Assembly will also take note of the letter from the Secretary-General (A/ES-11/165) concerning Member States in arrears in the payment of financial contributions to the United Nations within the terms of Article 19 of the Charter.

 The United Nations General Assembly has  proclaimed 25 April as International Delegate’s Day . In order to  raise awareness of the role of the representatives and delegates of the Member States to the United Nations , With the adoption of resolution 73/286 , the General Assembly invite us to recognize the crucial role of the delegates in fulfilling the main goals of the United Nations .
